Risk
British Mountaineering Council Participation Statement:
The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
By booking a course, you are aware and accept these risks. The management of risk will be taught as part of all courses, but risk can never be completely removed.
Fees
Cancellation by you:
Once notified of cancellation, I will attempt to resell the course place. In the event that I am able to resell the course place, you will receive a full refund.
In the event that I am unable to resell the course place prior to the course commencement date you will be charged the following cancellation fees:
Where notice is between 14 days and 1 week, I will refund 50% of your course fees.
If notice is more than 14 days, I will refund 100% of your course fees.
Where no notice is given, no refund will be given.
Cancellation by me:
Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that courses run as agreed, I will notify you of cancellation as soon a possible where I believe there are reasonable grounds that cancellation is necessary. In the unlikely event that I have to cancel your course, you will be offered either a full refund or another course date. I will not be liable for any travel or accommodation related expenses.
I reserve the right to cancel the course immediately due to inappropriate behaviour, intoxication (suspected or obvious), unsuitable clothing, incomplete booking forms, lack of guardian or misuse of equipment.
Payments and Bookings
Payment is to be made in full at least 14 days before the course date, or otherwise agreed. Payment is to be made through my website via Paypal, Debit / Credit Card or Bank Transfer. A payment link will be issued upon confirmation of course booking.
All courses are VAT exempt.
All participants are to complete an online booking form at least 48 hours prior to the course commencement. Alternative formats are available upon request.
Insurance and Loss
I am covered by full Public Liability Insurance and a copy of the certification can be provided upon request. I would advise you to take out your own Personal Accident / Travel / Cancellation Insurance. If you are insured, please ensure that it covers you for the activity that you are undertaking.
I do not include any personal accident, third party liability or personal insurance and accept no responsibility in respect of loss or damage to personal property.
